The Second Round of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the State of Qatar and Romania was held in the capital of Romania, Bucharest.
The Qatari side was represented by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hassen Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Romanian side was represented by H.E. Traian Laurentiu Hristea, Secretary of State for Global Affairs and Diplomatic Strategies within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to support and develop them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest, and in the presence of H.E. Osama Yousef Alqaradawi, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Romania, and the accompanying delegation.
During the visit, a number of bilateral agreements were signed between the two countries, including:
• Agreement on the acquisition of property rights over land for the diplomatic missions and consular posts between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Romania.
• The first executive program in the fields of higher education and academic research of the educational, scientific and cultural cooperation Agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Romania.
• Agreement on mutual cooperation and exchange of news between the Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Romanian National News Agency (Agerpres).
