Travel Tips

  • Tourists are advised to travel in groups and under the guidance of companies or tourism offices or with the help of a touristic guide, and be aware especially when travelling in mountainous areas and forests.

Romania is considered one of the most beautiful countries in Eastern Europe which has many tourist attractions that vary from natural, artistic and cultural elements. The capital, Bucharest, located in the south of the country, is the administrative, economic, financial, cultural and sportive center of Romania. Due to the big number of tourist areas in Romania, the number of tourist is in a continuous increase. The natural beauty in Romania does not come only as a single element for tourist attraction, as there are many archaeological sites which constitute another element of tourist attraction inside the country.

There are also in Romania many medical and treatment spas and this is another type of tourism, which is classified as medical tourism. Romania is famous for its abundant mineral and hot springs, which are exploited through its natural elements for treatment through mineral waters, medical mud and emissions of gases, all are elements that contribute to the comfort of the tourist and help him to recover his health. The most famous Romanian baths are Băile Herculane located in the southwest of the country, Felix and Căciulata baths and many other baths spread across the country.

Romania abounds also of ancient antiquities, which date back to the Middle Ages, and are represented in the churches and monasteries that are covered with many Roman paintings and decorations. Maramureș region is also famous, an area that attracts tourists because of the beauty of its landscape and the authenticity of its customs and traditions. Its hills are covered with dense forests and the area is famous for what is known as the wood civilization because everything there is made of wood including homes, churches, gates and plates, all are made of adorned an carved wood, in addition to the fame of people who are spinning wool and flax and decorate clothing with embroidery and bright colors.

Transylvania draws the attention of tourists overwhelming them with the spirit of adventure and myths once they get to enter it, due to the spread of fortified villages and ruined ancient palaces.

  • Bran Palace or Dracula Palace
