The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Romania will participate in the XV International Book Fair, BOOKFEST, from June 1-5, 2022, in order to promote Qatari culture and the Arabic language, and to familiarize the visitors with Qatari writers, and Qatari publications from the State of Qatar by exhibiting a significant number of books available by courtesy of the Ministry of Culture of the State of Qatar, in English and Arabic.

The books cover a variety of topics: tourism, economics, history and culture in the State of Qatar, fine arts, traditional architecture in Qatar, short stories, novels, children stories, poetry, issues of Doha Magazine, theatrical texts in the local Qatari dialect etc.

There will be also a video projection about the State of Qatar which mainly covers infrastructure and tourism aspects, World Cup facilities, Qatar Library and museums of Qatar.

Furthermore, traditional Qatari coffee will be served in a specially arranged setting with traditional furniture pieces typical for Qatar.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Bucharest participates in Bookfest together with other Arab embassies accredited in Romania, including the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon, Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia.

The participation of the diplomatic mission of the State of Qatar in Romania in the International Book Fair, XV edition, Bookfest, aims to promote Qatari culture, the Arabic language and to share with the world the precious cultural heritage and the spirit of generosity of the Middle East.

The Ambassador of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mr. Osama Yousef A.A. Alqaradawi and the other members of the diplomatic mission will attend the opening ceremony, along with other ambassadors and members of diplomatic missions and officials.
