Located 105km northwest of Doha, the 20th century fort overlooks the coastal town of Al Zubarah - the Gulf's most important pearling and trading town in the 18th century.

Featuring examples of traditional Qatari building techniques, Al Zubarah Archeological Site is now a popular tourist attraction.

👉 The site houses residential palaces, mosques, courtyard houses, fishermen’s huts, streets, double defensive walls, a harbour and a canal.
