Do and Don't

  • Exchanging currency has to be made in the authorized locations, and avoid dealing with the black market.
  • The trade or consumption of prohibited substances such as weapons, drugs and other are not allowed.
  • Use only licensed taxis or belonging to the hotels and touristic companies or public services for transportation.
  • Avoid people who offer suspicious services.
  • Medical services in public and private hospitals are not free of charge for the foreigners, except those who have an international health insurance which covers the expenses of medical treatments in government hospitals.
  • Make sure to get a receipt in case of purchase of any goods or for any service.
  • It is preferred to use tourist offices in case of traveling inside Romania for groups.
